Mig O'Hara Bio

My early dance training has led me to my career in the Arts. In addition to dance, I studied voice, music, acting, theater, and gymnastics/circus arts. I began working professionally at age 12, when I was recruited to perform in a USO troupe entertaining at military facilities around Washington, DC.

I was simultaneously appearing in musical productions at the Burn Brae Dinner Theater in Burtonsville, MD. For eleven summers, I performed daily at The Steel Pier in Atlantic City dancing, singing, and doing comedy and acrobatic routines at Tony Grant Stars of Tomorrow Theater.

I spent a year and a half in the Marilyn Daniels Modern Dance Company in Baltimore, MD before moving to New Jersey to join the Atlantic City Dance Theatre with whom I performed and toured with for three years. From 1985 to 1988, I performed in revue shows in Nassau and Freeport, Bahamas.

After a six-month theater residency in Baltimore, I moved to Miami to pursue film and television work, appearing in episodes of Miami Vice, 21 Jump Street, as well as film and commercial work. I was also contracted as a choreographer, singer and dancer for Ener-gee Productions. I moved to Lake Tahoe in 1990 for a contract at Harvey's Showroom.

The following year I relocated to Reno where I have worked steadily ever since. From 1992 through 1995, I performed as a singer and dancer in revue shows at The Flamingo Hilton, Harrah's and The Reno Hilton. I performed in hundreds of special events in the Reno/Tahoe/NorCal area with Karen Burns Productions from 1992 to 2017. Over the past twenty years I have taught dance and musical theater at many of the local Reno studios, including Nevada Dance Academy, Nevada Ballet Arts, Nevada Festival Ballet, Dance Unlimited, and Fascinating Rhythm School of Performing Arts.

I have been on staff at the TMCC Performing Arts Department for 17 years. I have worked as a choreographer and/or director for the following productions: Rent, A Year with Frog and Toad, Reefer Madness, Puss in Boots, Spamalot, The Boy Who Spoke With Animals, Seussical the Musical, The Producers, Heathers, American Idiot, Pippin, Rocky Horror Picture Show and The Wedding Singer.

I have been performing with The Colin Ross Band for over twenty years, as well as working solo as a singer-songwriter at music venues and special events in the Reno-Tahoe area. In addition, I own Legacy T&T, a competitive trampoline and tumbling program in Reno, NV.
